Dear Baby … It’s that time of year again, when I start thinking about what I want to create in the year to come. As I begin to set intentions for my life, I realize many of them involve you. I want to be the best parent I can for you. I want to practice patience each and every day. And at the same time, I want to give myself permission to fall short of my mark, and still know that I am being the best parent I can be. You are too small to be consciously setting intentions for yourself, but there are so many things you will accomplish this year. Your first words and your first steps are only the beginning. While I marvel at the milestones you will pass in the coming year, I remember that I can set intentions for myself, but not for others. Not even for you. As tiny as you are, you are your own person, with your own will and your own Spirit. This year I will support you in every way I can.
